The Grammys have removed secret voting committees, and unveiled and implemented new rules and guidelines, which will have an impact on next year s ceremony taking place in January of 2022.
Among the rules are the Best Dance Recording category has been changed to Best Dance/Electronic Recording, the Album Of The Year award now ensures that in order to be considered, a project must include 75% worth of newly recorded material, and all credited artists and contributors on a given album will now be eligible to be included as nominees. The academy on Wednesday announced that any producer, songwriter, engineer or featured artist on an album nominated for album of the year will also earn a nomination even if the music creator co-wrote one song on the 10-track project. “Moving forward, all credited artists (including featured artists), songwriters of new material, producers, recording engineers, mixers, and mastering engineers are eligible to be GRAMMY nominees and recipients in the Album Of The Year category,” the Recording Academy wrote.

The Recording Academy has released the latest updates to the rules and guidelines for the Grammy Awards.
The latest changes, detailed on Wednesday, follow revisions that were previously unveiled back in April. Nearly all of the changes are effective immediately, meaning they will be in play for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, which is set for January of next year. An updated album eligibility rule, however, won’t go into effect until the 2023 edition of the awards show.
